Supporting Strong Starts at School

The Transition to School Program helps children and families prepare for a confident, positive start to primary school. It brings together early education, schools, families and community to build strong connections that support learning and wellbeing.

Our Four Focus Areas

Stronger Families

  • Activities to support learning at home
  • Strategies for building confidence and managing challenges
  • Healthy lunch ideas and school routines
  • Encouraging family involvement in school life

 Stronger Children

  • Developing independence and resilience
  • Building early literacy and numeracy skills
  • Understanding school routines and expectations

 Stronger Schools

  • Supporting schools to understand and celebrate Indigenous perspectives
  • Encouraging positive relationships between educators, children and families

Stronger Communities

  • Building partnerships between early learning services, schools and local support agencies
  • Promoting a community-wide approach to children’s success

The program works collaboratively with local schools and service providers to ensure every child transitions to school feeling confident, supported and proud of who they are.
