How Sponsorship Works

  • Sponsorships are available to individuals, community organisations, schools, and sporting or cultural groups.
  • Applications must outline how the sponsorship will support children, families, or community outcomes.
  • Each sponsorship area has a set funding pool. Once that pool is used, no further sponsorships can be offered in that category for the financial year.
  • Because funding is limited, allocations are made based on community benefit and alignment with Winanga-li’s values.

Sponsorship Process

1. Application
  • Complete the Sponsorship Application Form and submit it to Winanga-li.
  • Applications are logged and prepared for review.
2. Internal Review
  • The CEO and senior management team review applications for eligibility, community benefit, and alignment with values.
  • Recommendations are prepared for the Board.
3. Board Consideration
  • Applications and recommendations are tabled at the next scheduled Board Meeting.
  • Board meetings are held every two months. Sponsorship requests must be submitted at least three months before funding is required. Applications submitted with less notice may not be considered.
  • The Board makes the final decision on sponsorship allocations.
4. Notification
  • Applicants are notified in writing of the Board’s decision.
  • Both successful and unsuccessful applicants receive a Notification of Outcome Letter.
  • Successful applicants also receive a sponsorship agreement outlining terms, funding amount, and reporting requirements.

Post-Sponsorship Process

1. Acknowledgement
  • Sponsored individuals, groups, or organisations must acknowledge Winanga-li’s support as outlined in the Sponsorship Agreement.
2. Reporting Back
  • A short report with photos, outcomes, and reflections must be submitted within two weeks of the event or project.
  • A reporting template is provided with the Notification of Outcome.
  • Reports are shared internally, included in Board updates, and may also feature on Winanga-li’s social media pages and website (with appropriate tags and acknowledgements).
  • Important: All photos and videos that show identifiable individuals must have a signed Photo and Video Consent Form. This form is included in your Notification of Outcome Letter or can be downloaded from our website.
3. Future Applications
  • Groups who complete all reporting requirements remain eligible for future sponsorship rounds.
